How I work
Session are mainly delivered online. In some cases, and where agreed beforehand, in person sessions may be used to conduct a behavioural experiment. The first appointment will be an assessment session. This will allow me to gain an understanding of your main difficulties and what you are wanting to work on during your therapy sessions. During the assessment stage, we will also have the opportunity to explore your history to understand the development of your symptoms. The early stages of treatment will focus on identifying patterns that are contributing to your symptoms. This will involve increasing awareness of your triggers, monitoring negative thinking and maladaptive behaviours. We will then begin to apply evidence based interventions to address your symptoms. A course of treatment typically is between 8 to 22 sessions, however this is dependent on your individual needs which will be regularly reviewed. I recommend having weekly sessions when first starting your therapeutic journey.
